Default Parasitic HP loss from a dual disk clutch or T56rebuilds tranny???

I did shitgobs of work to my motor, and only got 405RWHP out of it. It should have been 420-430. I have a McLeod Street Twin clutch, and I'm wondering if that could have caused some of the loss.

I also have the $1800 T56 package from T56rebuilds.com. Anything in there cause more loss than stock?

Anyone???

There is no way one of our transmissions lose more HP than stock. There are no parts that can drag inside of it to cause HP loss. The transmissions use stock gears and stock sliders so that can't be what is causing your HP loss. If you can post a dyno graph for us someone might be able to help you on that.

Thanks,
Amber

Eric,

Also what all have you done to the car and just out of curiosity how did you come up with 420-430hp?

Thanks,
Amber

I am going to make a guess on this one. I think you have a 224 cam with an LS6 manifold. Stock shortblock, stock heads and stock rear end. That looks like a normal graph for a 224 cam if infact it is that. Our 224 Cam made exactly the same thing with an almost identical graph. I think I even have it around here we can compair it to. Please let me know if I am close.

Thanks,
Amber

FWIW my car with a TR224, ASP pulley, LS6 intake and 10bolt only made 381rwhp.
There is no way you will loose more through a rebuilt transmission. Even if you use Syncromesh or some thick fluid like that you would only loose 1hp if that. I'd say you are making pretty good power for stock heads.

That's the problem. it's a mid 230's cam, Volant CAI, 85mm MAF, NW 90mm TB, FAST 90mm intake, Kooks 1 7/8 headers, 2 1/2 true duals

Should have made more than that. Who did the tuning? You are correct on the numbers you should have gotten. The graph looks like a smaller cam. Puzzleing.

a local guy did the tuning, he does the tuning for most of the speed shops around phoenix, so he most definately knows what he's doing.

I also have a dual disk McLeod clutch, and a stock 10bolt with 4.10 gears. Something with the clutch, driveshaft, or rearend has a harmonic vibration also.

I know, but I will one day put a 402 or bigger in, and I wanted headers that will work on that set up also... I don't want to buy headers again.

Bigger cams need more compression than factory. That is where your missing power is. Mill the heads and get close to 11:1 and you will pick up some power easily. Those primaries are killing some torque also.

Arizona Power and Sound consistantly sees 420 - 430 RWHP with my exact setup, using their cam.

Who did the cam install? Custom spec, advance ground in, installed dot-to-dot?

Bring it to the track and see what you run before you get all worried about dyno #s....

EDIT: Nevermind, I see its a ASP cam.

not an APS cam. It's the same set up that APS uses, but with their cam. The cam is a custom cam by another shop in the Phoenix area.
