Default 103,xxx miles and shot upshift somethings...time for a rebuild?

Title pretty much says it all. My tranny guy says the up-shift solenoids (i dont think thats right) are totally shot and tranny needs to be rebuilt. I trust this guy so i dont think he's pulling my tail. I figure its about time to re-build anyway... Tranny just hit 103,500 miles.

IF you guys think it needs to be rebuilt, i wanna do it right. What companies make internals to beef up T-56's? What parts can be strengthened?? This is my DD, so i'd like to keep it as drivable as possible. It has never been tracked, well, yet.

-thanks.

Well a couple of things come to mind
1) your trusted guy is not deserving because there are no up or downshift solenoids on a manual. Sounds like he is thinking of an auto . Either way do not have him work on your trans.
2) What is it you have a problem with? If you cant even tell whats wrong , you won't know when its fixed.
3) Why did you post?

If its just the solnoids that control the shift there about 30 bucks and you can just replace them.

Again, Manuals don't have shift solenoids. Just autos. The only solenoids it has are reverse lockout, speeds shift and skip shift. That has nothing to do with a M6.

Thanks,
Amber
