Default Top transmission bolts and wiring

Just out of curiosity how much of a pain in the *** is it to get at the very top two transmission bolts when removing the trans? Going to be doin a trans swap this summer so im tryin to get an idea of the fun things that await me.

thanks

One other thing when doing an A4 to M6 swap do i need to do any special wiring such as splicing things together and that sort of thing if i get the M6 wiring harness or is that all gonna be taken care of by getting that particular harness?

the m6 bolts aren't that hard, take your time, I used 2 long 1/2in extentions to my airgun with a swivel socket to grab the nuts

yup, its not that bad. but you will however, need plenty of extensions to get to them.

for the M6, the last couple times i had mine out. I just unbolted the tranny from the bellhousing, then the bellhousing from the engine. doesn't all have to go in or come out together. the top bolts are a cinch with the tranny out of the way.

Yes, first unbolt the tranny from the bellhousing, then the bellhousing from the engine. To get the top bolts holding the tranny to the bellhousing, I used a long (~20") extension and it wasn't that bad.

you will still need to splice wires to your clutch pedal for the safety switch and cruise cutoff. I believe that's all you'll have to splice but don't quote me. that is if you have the M6 harness

pretty easy actually, once you drop the tranny mount and pivot the tranny (i supported it with a jack), its wide open compared to most, don't sweat it
