Is it ok to use Royal purple full synth. on M6

Default Is it ok to use Royal purple full synth. on M6

As stated in my title. I need a fluid change and didnt know whta to use.

can't see why not as I've been using Redline MTL for the last 8 years in my autox LS1

I used GM Syncromesh in mine. Cost me a couple bucks to buy it at a dealership but I haven't had any issues with it.

Why not follow the manufacturer's recommendation - Dexron III?

Would just get better fuel milage. That's the only reason to use ATF.

NO. The royal purple has an additive that is know for eating blocker ring material. You run the risk of premature blocker ring wear if you use it and not to mention we don't warranty against it since tremec tells you it is not an approved fluid to use.

We use Mobil 1 atf in the trans. There is an additive in RP, that was proven to attack the adhesive that binds the blocker ring material to the blocker rings.

o0o boy i got royal purple in my cam setup never heard anything bad about them everyone i know uses it int heir fbods. Would it ruin anythign if it was run only for a few thousdand miles before i change to somethign else?

When did you discover this??? I PMed you guys in Feb asking basically the same question and you said RP was fine. Thats what my car is full of now.......

I have heard that problem was fixed in the later T56 trans. Or that most of the cars that have been running it and had problems were earlier models. I know some guys who have used it for 40K+ miles and have had no issues.

How many quarts does our tranny hold? 4.7 Is what I was told but want to be sure.
