won't roll in neutral Well this may or may not be a problem, just thought i'd post up for you guys to take a look at. Im finishing up the t56/408 swap in my silverado and was going to start the motor. I don't have the clutch bled yet since i've got no one around to give me a hand right now, so i wanted to be sure it wasn't in gear. I just stuck it in nuetral and tried to push it and it wouldn't move. I checked that no brakes are locked up so im sure its because of the tranny. What do you guys think about this? Thanks. |
I would check the shift linkage, what shifter are you using? I know some of the aftermarket shifts have bump stops and you could still be in a gear partially if they aren't set right. It should roll in neutral no matter what unless something is messed up in the transmission. |
im using a stock hurst shifter. I bought the tranny used from a reputable member of performancetrucks.net that switched to a a th400, so i'd like to think there is nothing wrong with the tranny. I guess its definetly a possibility though :( |
Maybe you have something bound up in the drivetrain? Maybe parking brake is set or goofed up? But it should move no matter what in neutral. |
It is not in the rest of the drivetrain, i've already checked all that. Its definetly something inside the transmission. Im ordering a rebuild kit today from sixspeedsinc |
