t-56 noise

when i am at a dead stop and off the clutch but when i put my foot on the clutch it goes away. and when i turn a corner and i am off the clutch it get louder and when i put my foot on the clutch it goes away. what could that be. I just put a 12 bolt in it like about 300 miles ago. changed the rear u joints and have a poly t-mount

Could be the trans input shaft or something in that area like a bearing or something.

It sounds like it's just your throwout bearing. Mine makes a bit of noise too, until you push the clutch pedal in. It's somewhat normal unless it's too loud. I swapped my throwout/hydraulics and the noise didn't change. An aftermarket shifter or poly trans mount will make it more noticeable.

If it gets louder over time, then start to worry.

Good luck with that install. If you haven't upgraded to the 2001+ slave cylinder, you should probably do that when you do the clutch. I'm guessing you probably have already done that.

Travose21 07-19-2007 02:41 PM

I did. how could you tell that the slave is bad

renxwar 07-19-2007 02:53 PM

Sounds exactly like the throwout bearing. My old Jeep (different stuff I know) did the same thing.

The slave is bad if you have pedal problems and you loose fluid. I had to top mine off every couple days it got so bad.

my pedal problems is when i am at WOT and i get to about 5800-6000 rpms and the pedal feels loose and i have to pump it up to get back right again. it use to stick to the floor and thanks to the drill mod and ram adjustable i dont do it anymore
