What gear are you running right now?
4.10's?

The reason I ask, if you are still running 3.42's, the 3.73's are even less prone to chatter. But if you are for some reason going in the other direction 4.10 to 3.73, it will likely start to chatter.

I had the twin-disc in my car and daily drove it quite a bit.

You need to learn to slip the clutch a little on take-off because it wants to GRAB. I was a little worried what this would do to the flywheel as far as heat, but I recently pulled the clutch out to do my TH400 swap and it looked excellent.

I have probably 8,000 miles on the clutch and it had > 90% of the material left on both discs...truly amazing considering I was making 550+ hp for quite a while and made several trips to the track with ET Streets and ET Drags.

The pedal pressure with the billet master felt pretty much stock to me, maybe a tad stiffer.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one of their products!

Default McLeod Clutch Experiences Needed

Okay, I have narrowed my clutch search down to McLeod. But now my question is which one? In case nobody remembers, this clutch needs to be very streetable since I tend to be stuck in SoCal stop-and-go freeway commutes almost everyday. It will need to handle 400-420hp to the wheels consistantly and not chatter much with 3.73's in the rear.

So far, I am leaning toward the Single Disk Organic/Organic. It should be enough clutch for the car right now and it is supposed to have a very stock-like feel.

But how much more power can the Carbon/Kevlar combo hold? Does it really chatter that much worse? I have heard that it is still better in this department than the other non-organic clutches on the market, is this true?

I also have to admit that their Twin Disk is really getting my attention. It can be had for only about $212 more than the Organic/Organic and $162 than the Kevlar. I have heard that there is no chatter with it, and it holds anything you can throw at it. But what about pedal pressure? Of course, I do plan on upping the HP level of my car but I don't see any significant changes (500hp+) for at least a year. Do you think that this clutch would be over-kill in my car?

I was one of the first 15 or so people to get the revised master cylinder as well.

After installation my clutch always worked flawlessly.

I have 3.73 gears. With this single disk Kevlar/organic it doesn't matter which gear you have. There will be no chatter

Thanks everyone!

Well it looks like I will be going with the Carbon/Kevlar single disk. I was really starting to lean towards the Twin Disk but the place that had such a great price on them just bumped the price up another $200, to over $1000 now . But it looks like I should be happy with the Carbon/Kevlar single, I will let everyone know how it turns out.
