Default Why Does My Master Cylinder Reservoir Cap Keep Cracking???

Hey Guys and Gals, I wanted to bleed my clutch today and I noticed that my reservoir cap cracked again. This has happened twice already I don't understand why it happens. Has this happened to anyone else and how can I solve the problem?? these caps are HARD to find I cant seem to find one online. Your help would be great. Thanks Chris

Cracking where? Sounds to me like you're just tightening it down too much

could the hood or hood strut be hitting it somehow? seems to me to be nowhere near something that would hit it and crack it, but I've seen some weird **** happen

check for one at a junk yard. I'd say put a bit of paint on the cap and close the hood. If anything is touching the paint should transfer.
