Default How to keep the shifter stick from loosening?

I have a Pro 5.0 shifter, and a Lous Short Stick. It seems like every 2 weeks the bolts are loosening up. I have to keep the allen wrench with me in my console just to tighten it up. I had the shifter gasket inbetween, but thats since been chewed up by the tightening and loosening. I locktite'd the bolts and that didn't seem to do anything. Any other suggestions? Does anyone else have this problem?

Weld it. My college roomate had this problem and we just welded the stick on there so that it would never come off.

Yeah I re-locktit'd, and rebolted them up as hard as I possibly could. Lets see how well it works.

they sell a stick (chap stick) like version of Loctite and it works wonders, try that.

Same issue here. I just took out the allen bolts and got longer ones and used a nylon lock nut on the other side, never had an issue since.

I was gonna suggest all-metal lock nuts. You can usually find them at Ace hardware, but any lock nut will help.

I've got to wonder if you haven't wallowed out the hole in the shifter though, sure sounds like it.

Sorry to bump an old thread, however I'm fighting with the same issue. Anyone know the size bolts that are used to mate the Lou's Short STick to the Pro 5.0 shifter?

I can get metal lock nuts and go with red loctite, however I believe I like the longer bolt + nylon lock nut idea posted above the best.
