Exclamation How many times can you resurface stock flywheel?

Need a quick answer. I already cut mine once. Can I go once more??? Or should I just get a billet steel unit??? I would rather not spend the money if I don't have to.

I have already done it twice on my original flywheel. Once when I simply replaced my clutch with a stock unit and then again when I upgraded to the ls7 clutch and gave my stocker to my buddy. Both times worked absolutely fine with no issues. You should be fine...I would think a dial caliper would be your best bet though if you are real worried. Simply locate the factory accepted specs for the thickness and measure it to be sure your ok. Keep in mind that my flywheel had over 110k the second time around.

What about the pressure plate? I think it can't be resurfaced...
Do you usually change it or you can reuse the old one?

Depends on how bad the pressure plate is worn. Some can be reused others need to be thrown out and replaced.

I went ahead and bought a new flywheel. It is SFI approved and the PP and flywheel will be ballanced together.

There should be a spec of what the limit is, so if you dont exceed that number, youre fine.

How much does re-surfacing the flywheel affect the clutch engagement?
