hey yall...as you can see from the title i just bought the pro 5.0 because i recently had my trans rebuilt in my WS6 and the stock hurst felt completely different then it had before...i had trouble relearning it so i decided to go for the 5.0 and a WS6 store short stick....both products look fantastic and seem like they will work well together
the instructions to install the shifter look fairly straight forward and easy...anything i should know before i start the install?
thanks alot!

It's very simple. Make sure you put a good seal of gasket sealer between the shifter base and transmission or you may have fluid leak. It may also help with the noise you tend to get with a Pro 5.0.
Also, the "Pro 5.0" on the shifter base reads backwards when the shifter is installed. This is correct as it obviously won't fit the other way.
It's such a straight forward install. Remove console, remove shifter boot, remove four bolts and stock shifter, then reverse the process after putting the gasket maker on there.
OH YES, and I almost forgot. Make sure to set the stops appropriately before putting the boot and console back in because you don't want to damage that brand new transmission.

Also dont cut the plastic boot, the one with the 6 little screws itll help out with the noise. I know that the 5.0 instructions says to do so but screw that. Heres some info on how to do the install if you need

if you like it, don't care about what others say.
The only thing I can recommend is NOT to cut the boot as that's pretty much the only thing keeping the tranny noise out of the cabin. Anything is an improvement over the stock long/short throw crap the stocker has issues with along with that rubber isolator on the stick.

A heavy shift **** also helps dampen shifter noise.
I cut the rubber boot and it wasn't much noisier to me, but I also put a heavier(MBA) shift **** on mine when I did the install 8yrs ago.
And If you want a shorter shift arm just cut it down a bit ( I cut 1" off).

I cut my boot. No extra noise here. My cam makes my whole car shake so maybe I just didn't notice it.
The only reason I cut it is because I didnt want all the grease in the shifter under the boot/under the car where dirt and **** could get in.

well fellas sorry it took so long to get this out to you but i got the shifter in and man what a relief! shift from 1-2 are lightning fast and no resistance and from 2-3 its WAY better then the Hurst IMO....much less resistance...i actually lost traction to the point i started sideways from 1-2 and had to get out of the gas!....
