That rubber bushing everyone talks about in the stock shifter? I removed mine today & I could pull the rod right out of that bushing without any trouble. After reading about how good the pro 5.0 shifter works, I was considering going that route. I decided to try this WS6 store short shifter out first, since its only $25. I got the 6 1/2 inch one. Installed it today & yes, I am very happy with it. Very good cheap mod.

Interesting. I don't know what shifter to get for my T56 swap. I'll look into the one you mention...price sounds great!
