All of our ratings are crank HP. They are all a rule of thumb as well. The rotating assembly can handle much more power than the rating, your fight will not be with the block but instead with keeping heads down with the 4 bolt head design. We have a number of customers making far more power that our ratings. You can also let it get away from you and melt a motor down long before the rated max output with poor tuning, malfunctioning parts or excessive RPM.

I had the pleasure of tuning a ws6 last weekend for a customer who has a TM 408 in it running NA but on a boost cam. It ran beautifully! We tested it, too. I’ll be calling Thompson Motorsports if and when I’m in the market for a built motor.
