Description:
LS1 lid setup for an LT1 car that clears a stock hood. The lid has been heated and pressed down a tiny bit, but that wasn't totally necessary and it did kind of muck up the finish on top. Comes with K&N filter and radiator support already cut. You can use my radiator support, but it's probably better to use mine as a template so you can cut yours cleaner. You can cut yours cleaner if you want but it looks fine when the lid is on. Other things you have to do are cut some webbing of the hood, and cut a rectangle out of the core support and lay the radiator back towards the motor a few inches. You also have to cut your fan shroud a touch only if you have an EWP. The MAF gets jammed into the lid and then you need a 4" to 3.5" Fernco coupler from Home Depot for $8, and some self tapping screws to hold the front of the lid down. This was on a car without AC, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work with AC. People claim a 10-15hp gain and 1.5mph from this over a CAI due to less bends for the air. Bigger bonus is this is way cheaper than a CAI, and frees up engine bay space. I ran this setup for a few years but my new aftermarket SS hood is thicker than stock and I can't cut the webbing so it didn't fit so I had to change setups. Looking for $75 for the modified lid, the filter, and radiator support, plus shipping. Prefer local pickup, I can meet anywhere between Warrenton and Ashburn VA. Filter alone is $64 new, plus lids are normally $100.
