- Dec 16, 2017 12:52 PMHello Ken. My suggestion of which set of the Hooker engine brackets to use would be based primarily on which transmission was being used (4L70 in your case), since that has a major effect on the fitment envelope of the drivetrain, especially if the installer doesn't wan't to get involved with cutting the tunnel. I would be using the forward bias brackets myself if I were installing the engine/trans combination you have in an A-body and using those brackets will locate the front of your engine and your cylinder heads in the same location as the old SB Chevy components were at since the LS block is missing 1-3/16" off its rear end compared to the SB Chevy. I assume you are using a Corvette style accessory drive, if not, that would be the most compatible with the Hooker swap parts in your situation.
Todd - Mar 31, 2017 01:15 PMKen,
First off, thanks for all the info you have supplied on your '57 and Chevelle builds. You have cut my headaches in half since I started my '55 Nomad/LSA build. I do have a question as to what you ended up doing about the oil cooler using the Holley pan? I'm contemplating making a bracket to mount the GM cooler but am curious as to what you did for this situation.
Thanks,
Bill - Oct 20, 2016 10:56 AMKen,
Can you give specifics on the gas lines you used for any of the Impala's you have done?
I need lengths sizes and info you can to share.
Thank You for documenting all these great builds - Feb 25, 2016 01:01 PMThanks for the heads-up about the issue Ken, I've forwarded the link to those responsible for the design/management of the Holley oil pans.
Todd - Dec 21, 2015 12:40 PMKen,
I'm up to the point of mounting my ETC pedal in my '66 Malibu and was wondering what bracket you came up with to mount your gas pedal? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Russ - Nov 25, 2014 04:25 AMJust read all about your car mainly because I have pulled the complete guts (engine, trans, wiring) out of an '06 GTO and have installed most in an 06 350Z and appear to have run into your same issues. I reached out to americs01@gmail.com for some help.
Again - GREAT WORK and very NICE car!! chris - Sep 4, 2013 12:38 PMken,
Do you have a pattern (blueprint)for those plates? I would like to buy a set if possible for my 1967 Impala convertible LS project.. - Nov 14, 2010 07:02 PMFist of all, AWSOME job on your 37. I am working ontrying to get an 06 gto cluster to work on my ls2 swap. and i saw you got yours to work. do you have a diagram of how you wired your cluster? i have been trying to figure mine out for months. would greatly appreciate an info you can give.
