Hey Chris, I also just read that article from gm high tech and was inspired. Lol. I really want to do a similar set up on my Z. I wanted to use ls3 hollow stems like you, but in some 243 heads and a eps cam. It was really refreshing to read the article and hear something different instead of, you need to replace everything in your engine. Haha. Do you think cutting down the ls3 valves to a 2.04 is really worth it? I love the idea of a lighter valve train but you always here about the hollow and sodium debacles.

Just wondering the cost to port a fast 92? or what do you suggest for an 03 Z06? 90,92,102? so far just bolt on's and what's the best head setup?
    Thanks Kevin

No real big tips...just start with a healthy motor and make small changes at a time. It is hard when you make alot of changes because you are not sure what helped or what hurt the setup. Also it seems the carb/vic setups can be hit or miss, I have not really looked into them that much to see what really works and what doesnt. Sorry i couldnt be more help. But at 2340 raceweight i would have been in the 9s cam only for sure. Might want to switch the cam. The TEA heads are a pretty good choice. Also might be driveline problems too, like a converter eating a ton of power that should be put down.

Hey Chrs, I was checking out your results for your cam only predator z camaro, that thing is awesome!! I have a T-bucket that I built & put a similar eng in, only it's got TEA cnc ported heads on it w/ a vic jr & a Holey 750 DP on it. My car weighs 2340 w/ me in it & there is no way it will go that fast!! Preator Z commented on how meticulous you are w/ your set up, the problem is, I'm a welder, not an eng guy, so I don't even know where to start! I'v got it jetted right, but as far as anything else goes I'm kinda lost. I was hoping you might give me a tip or two?? Thanks in advance for any help!!!......Tommy

check out speed inc's site, they are a sponsor...I make two types or ram air, one for ac on the car and one for ac off the car...both work great and will give excellent gains...here is a feedback thread for the ram airs

get a good merge in the exhaust...a good ram air will help a ton too at the track
