Sweet, there's someone out there that cares. There was a guy that actually told me I'd fail the test because of my sig, he's pretty quiet now.

I bet you're on pins and needles for next month man, I'm glad to hear everything worked out for you.

People are gay like that these days. Instantly judging based on a sig. Anyways, do you know how many people got an interview or how many they are taking this year? I am the last class through for 134, they are freezing the apprenticeship because they barely could fill our spots and didnt wanna risk taking another class and not having jobs for them.

There was a union rep who gave the exact amount, it was 2,346 applicants if I remember correctly. I think that was it or really close to that.

When I applied a union rep let me know they were only taking around 250-300 people.

I'm guessing the aptitude test weed's out a large number, the interview weeds out a smaller number, and then the physical testing weeds out even more. The re[ was glad I graduated from a good welding school and told me to do well and I'd be alright, but there were some people there who were just looking for options because "things were slow".

I believe I saw a banner stating they needed more welders for a BP expansion, so hopefully us F-Body guys can get in there together. I met a Mustang driver that was going in for HVAC and was 21, but he didn't study for the test so..........

thats when they actually pass the permits and such. not knockin you guys at all. but thats whats ive been told.the bp plan still has so many more phases. i was told it could take up to 6 years for the bp plant. its worth it. i took the test last year and was hired. i just have other ambitions in life. i love what i do for a living. not many people can say that.

Oh Horist, you sweet talker you!

The BP phase taking several years is good news for new apprentices, since the program is 5 years it puts them right around start-up time when they're nearing completion of the program.
