IL Peeps: G/F Is Looking For A Job In Cook County
I need to find my g/f a new job, her old job is shiit, and she's being taken advantage of big time She lives in Plainfield, works 5 mins from home but HATES her job right now. She wants to come up more towards my neck of the woods in Cook County (Brookfield, LaGrange, LaGrange Park.....) you get the idea.
She's willing to travel in a 20 mile radius for a new job. Obviosuly F/T work with benefits..
So can anyone here help me out?
Thanks
-Jonas

Yeah, job selection is poor around here in many sectors. She could consider some form of self-employment, but that obviously has some big challenges as well and usually requires a decent amount of cash on hand.
I had to leave my job a couple years ago. Since that time, I've done various stock/bank/bond investments for income, but this won't get you very far unless you have a lot of capital to play with. Plus my wife has a normal full-time job so I had insurance available to me even without a regular employer, that's a big factor to consider as well.
It's nice to not have a boss, but the loss of a regular paycheck isn't so great. I've been playing with the idea of rental property lately.....there are some insane deals on houses right now, if you have the cash to buy outright you can make a pretty decent income on renters. Of course, there are challenges here as well, but that's the case with earning any form of income; just gotta pick your posion.
