Cancer benefit Wheaton May 5TH I wanted to let everyone know about a cancer benefit this Saturday at the Wheaton IL VFW. The address is 0N731 Papworth. It is near the corner of Gary and Geneva roads. It starts at 6PM and is scheduled to go till about either 12 or 1 I think.
The cost to get in is $10. For this you will get entertainment in the form of a DJ and The Tony Smith show which is a band. Also included is plenty of food including appetizers including just to name a few mini tacos, mozzarella sticks, wings and veggies. You also get main course choices of chicken, baked mostaccioli and pizza again just to name a few. Also there will be a desert table. Drinks are not included but if you leave hungry it will be your own fault.

Also there will be a few auctions along with a raffle that there are over 70 prizes for. Each person who pays to enter also gets a ticket for the door prize which I believe is a 23 inch 1080P TV.
A little back story on the person this is for. His name is Michael J Ghilardi. Life has been punching him pretty hard lately. Only three years ago he lost his step-son who he had raised as a baby and wife in automobile accident the day after Christmas. Now this past November he was diagnosed with liver cancer. He is now on the list waiting for a liver transplant. Because of being sick and not able to work much he has no health insurance and he will be losing his home soon. So as you can see this man has had a tough go of it over the last few years. Look up his name on the Daily Herald website. They have done a few articles on him.
You will probable go out Saturday night anyways right? Why not make the money you spend go toward something that will really help someone that really needs all the help he can get right now. If you cant make or already have plans but would like to help you can contact West Suburban Bank at 355 W Army Trail Road in Bloomingdale to make a donation. It is called the MJ Ghilardi Cancer Benefit. This benefit does have a tax ID number. Thank you to anyone that comes out or decides to help. It is much appreciated and needed. The name is pronounced ga-lard-e.
