Ohio e-check info.

Ohio e-check info. Hoping for someone to that's been there to give me some info on what will fail a car for Ohio e-check. I'm looking at putting quite a bit of money into the car, and I don't want to have to deal with the hassel of it failing. Also, I'm aware of the collectors plate stuff for firebirds to get around e-check. Will reprogramming the PCM to eliminate EGR or AIR system codes then removing the O2 and AIR systems make the car fail the OBD2 test? How about reprogramming to eliminate skip shift?

You can tune it to pass but they will do a visual inspection so you need cats. Mine passed with my TR230 cam, all emission components removed and headers, I just used a catted Y pipe.
If you search, there are alot of threads that cover what is needed to make it pass. Just search for OBDII and echeck, you should find something.

If you have another car in your name you can always get collectors plates and by pass e check all together 
OR..
you can have cats on (but they can be hollowed out, as long as the inspector physically sees them) and make sure you have no check engine lights then you will pass. All the obd2 cars are just plugged into a computer to see if theres any ses lights, no sniffer, unless for some reason the computers wont sync up.
Your going to have to have the car tuned with HP Tuners or LS1 Edit to do it properly.
OR..

You can get Collector plates. I am getting them for my 01 Trans am. I am in an E check county. All you need to do is call Columbus or go to your local BMV. They will point you in the right direction.
