Headers And Y-Pipe are on!

Alright so about 26 hours of work and finally the bastards are on.... Def Not as easy as people made it sound... But Now that i KNow how to do it it wouldnt even take me half the time.. Anyways.. The Car seemed a bit slugish down low... but it was pulling hard up high ... Normal for after a more open exhuast system right?? just wonderen if anyways else was the same way

JDP 05-29-2006 08:40 PM

damn, that took you a while to do, did you do it br yourself?

i took everything off myself and a buddy helped me put everything on and it took us a total of 10 hours for everything.

my car feels sluggish down low too but i think a tune would help out with all of that.

after i put my exhaust on, i drove the car for the rest of the day

It might just feel sluggish cuz its getting louder and you're used to going faster when it gets that loud ?

just get some gears now, it will pull harder all the time. I remember when I got my car done after headers slpcars98 and myself beat the shit out of it for a little bit even though it was 11:30 at night

Schultzp85 05-29-2006 09:31 PM

yeah, the sound is bad ass, yeah i did it myself with my bro... neither of us has done it before so it just took awhile every bolt was a battle... :engarde: but we finally got it

yak 05-29-2006 09:39 PM

yeah, my car took me a while but now I can do pacesetters with my eyes closed.

CONGRATS DUDE!!!

what did you do to get the car up high enough??

it might be feel less on the bottom end but give it a few miles the computer should adjust for you.

excellent work dude!

yeah thats the best is knowing you did the job yourself.
Unlike others who buy the cars already completed and modded, I see know sense of accomplishment in that!

Congrats on the install, I did my first set of headers and y-pipe 2 weeks ago with my Wife's help...took us about 4.5 hours, sliced 2 fingers open on those damn GM gaskets!! but it was worth it...quality time with the wife and car as well as saving a couple hundred bucks in labor.

yak 05-30-2006 09:48 PM

yeah vince, seriously, matt and I just stared at each other in awe when we got both lines in in about 4 minutes compared to the 1+ hour fiddleing with those clips the first time. I should have some good news as to how my shit runs in a couple weeks.
