hooker Super Comp headers hey im looking at buying some hooker super comp headers and i just wanted to know what other people think of them |
i have hooker headers, the fitment and install was great. the ground clearence is good too. however my headers saw one winter and even being ceramic coated, they started to rust around the collectors. i will be redipping mine soon |
I have super comps on my car with a BBC in it, can't complain with the fit, could use a redip also but they are super old. Yeah not an LS1, just commenting on the headers in general. |
same here, used them on a LT1 and my 3rd gen SBC race car but not ls1, just like super comps in general. always had good results for me. |
I have done a lot of research on them, because I am planning on putting them on my 95 Z28, and they have nothing but respect. I know more than a few people who put them on LS1s and LT1s and love them. They are nice, but if you have the money, go for kooks. With midwest winters, I would go with stainless steel. (please excuse the CA address, I am originally from Chicago western suburbs, so I like to stop by here from time to time) |
I was leaning toward the Hooker Super Comps myself, but opted for the AR Headers instead. The only reason I did, is because we live in a rust belt, and I only wanted to put headers on this car once. If the Hookers were stainless, I would have bought them though. |

Are the Hookers made in Mexico? My dad bought a set for our Chevelle and it was stamped "made in mexico" on the block side of the flange... |
i have super comps on my car with no complaints. mine are the stainless version and they still look great. |
I live in long island, would i be better off going with ARH headers or Hookers? I would love to save the money... |
Depends if you want a stainless steel header or not. If it doesnt matter make sure you get them coated atleast. Look at the pacesetters, hookers |
well i would deffinitly get them coated, i think there about 600 with the y pipe |
