Default Has anybody else seen their LES yet?

I woke up this morning and checked my LES and saw that there is a Debt payment deduction for half of my check. I am in Iraq right now. I went to the finance office and they said it is due to the government shutdown. Apparently they are only paying us for the first week of april until the shutdown is over. I am glad that I don't have a family to support but I sure do feel bad for the people that do.

Are you CONUS? I talked to a few people back home and they said that CONUS service members won't see it until the 9th and that is if they don't figure it all out before then

It really sucks. I don't have a family so I am not getting hit as hard but the people that do have families and mortgages are really getting screwed.

They are saying that we are supposed to receive the rest of the check with the pay on the 29th if they get everything figured out.

Dear US Government,
I work your long hours in all the damn elements. I give up my holidays and time with my friends and family member without question. I go to **** holes all over the world and do things I try to forget over the nightmares I have. And now your telling me that I get to do all of that for half the money you owe me. Not cool at all.
Tate
P.S.- Go screw yourself.

Check it out guys. They did this in the 90's. I didn't get my pay on the 1st but it was all fixed by the 15th. Relax for a second. Guys downrange, I know you can't do this but for the rest of you. Check with your chain of command. Mine told me on days where I am not absolutely needed then don't come in. I will be working more hours at my other job in order to compensate. I have 4 daughters and 1500 a month in child support. I feel everyones pain and I think the smart thing to do right now if start figuring out what to do instead of cussing out a government on a forum they will never read. I agree with all of you but for me its a waist of energy to get pissed off. I've got 15 yrs in and I'm not quitting now.

No doubt..But its the fact that the military will get screwed. Those damn congress people probably make what 6 figures to a million and the military's pay will get screwed? That is BS.. If it does happen, then there is no appreciation for us in uniform.

No doubt, theres nothing we could do. But just the fact that they are willing to take our paychecks is the issue.
