This is really sad, and I do feel sorry, however there must have been some sound proof that would have pointed the sheriffs in that direction, and if someone is showing a weapon the cops have a split second to take action because there life may be in danger also. Hopefully, there can be a reasonable end to this tragedy.

This is a tragedy. lack of tactical discipline lead to this shooting. They teach us that in the military, I guess swat gets no such EOF training. Just shoot first. How unprofessional.

8 seconds after the doors down and 71 shots fired... And the sherif says they're no pot bellied cowboys... Sounds like these pigs wanted the ride of they're life and they got it harming people that have protected them... They've pulled him over before if they have cause to get a search warrant why did they run in there knowing a former
Military person would e bearing weapons and it's not
Hard to come upon an extra vest laying around... I'm astonished at how unprofessional this job was done and at the lack of knowledge... I would have got him in a traffic stop on probable cause and then executed the search warrant... Not only
Did they endanger themselves in this situation had he been dangerous as they think they endangered the lives if a loving wife and child... Rediculous!!!!
Rip

What kind of fucked up **** is this?! I wouldn't feel bad if a group of us Marines pulled on our flacks, grabbed our personal ARs, handguns and shotguns and raided the damned deputies that did this. And of course we just shoot em as soon as we see em since we KNOW that they have guns. This Sheriff department think they're the damn Gestapo now or what? **** em all. RIP Brother.

that is pretty much how i felt when i read this. almost like it was a blatant attack on the corps, for the simple fact he did what 85% of other Marines would have done. had his weapon at the alert, saw there was no danger, leave his weapon on safe, yet still swallow 22 rounds and watch his son watch him bleed out. i have calmed down some, but i still say that whole deal is about as domestic an enemy of the constitution an agency can get without crossing that line and legally (IMO) validating what you and me think. we are slowly turning into a police state and not too many people will admit it, and only those of us who swore to protect the constitution from domestic enemies bent on creating that police state are in a position to prevent it. its getting close to that, where local govenrments only want police to have arms, and no one else. but the criminals will have them regardless, and the honest man is suppossed to rely on the police to protect his homestead? i think not. when i get a chance i am presenting these ideas to my congress people. i hope others will do the same, either way you think. either a Marine was wrongfully killed, or that the cops were right, but the case has took two steps back because they lost a source of intel, and now the bad guys know whats up. even in the unlikely event this kid was as bad as they say, all they accomplished would be to have killed a low level dope smuggler, and the big wigs just change tactics, and/or take revenge even worse. its a lose lose deal. hopefully a change in legislation to protect fourth amendment rights better will prevent this kind of thing from ever happening again.
