no offense ya'll...but....oh well?
Are you supposed to be working? being on Myspace and YouTube isn't exactly mission necessary is it?
When I was deployed to PSAB in '98-99 we didn't have internet at all.
GET OVER IT! Suck it up, ya'll are there for the mission!

I wasn't complaining, I was just saying that those sites, along with others have been blocked here at Sheppard for a while now. I know what it's like on the line, and hope to get back out there soon. I have been at Sheppard for 4 years now. I'm ready to go back to real work.

No offense but after putting their *** on the line in these times the very least they should be afforded the opportunity to look at myspace. And I should hope they get at least a few hours a day for themselves. They are not robots you know.

hmmmm.. do you have no idea how this works?
right now, we have 1000s of ready and mostly willing military personnel.... being paid to wait.
when the job comes, they do it. they jump on it and take care of ****.
but once the job is thru, they have massive amounts of downtime... where they just sit in a office/shop/wherever, and wait.
now, im talking more of the people here in the US on bases, then overseas... but still, dont put them down for wanting to do something other then sit there looking at a wall.
as for it being blocked, i completely understand the frustration, but also they do it for their own good... myspace and its ads are full of potential spyware/adware links... and it takes up alot of bandwidth.. and its easy for them to go... "hmm, theres zero military reason to keep this"
as for news and other illogical blocks.. most of the time its because a software program automatically did it.. they arnt perfect, so it wont always make sense. it probably had some keywords in enough stories to set it off..

Are you guys talking about on an active duty post or deployed to a fob? I mean, it would kind of suck not being able to go on to myspace for an entire deployment. I remember when I was there in 06 that some of the MWR`s couldnt access myspace, I was hoping it was just a fluke.

MrDude explained my day pretty well. I work on airplanes. When they are broke for my careerfield I hit the ground running. Some nights I'll be working all night out there. Most nights not. In my down time I can watch TV or play on the computer. I prefer the computer.
Soo....I'm here for the mission all night. Have no fear....I'll be out there when I'm needed.
