I go to Iraq usually once or twice a month (C-5 Galaxy Loadmaster) but we only fly into Baghdad or Balad..... What I can tell you about ORBI (Baghdad Intl) is it sucks.... Isn't camp liberty on the airport grounds????

Iraq in general sucks pretty bad but i guess it depends on what you do that'll make it either suck or REALLY suck....

liberty is a pretty big place there are lakes and big ponds there and the PX rocks. i would go there once a month for a meeting at what was then 4ID HQ. since it's close to Baghdad the food supply is great. the defac is really good and there is a a taco bell and popeyes and pizza hut and subway i think. but watch out for for route plutos its shitty.

Liberty/Victory are two ends of the same camp. BIAP is in the middle. Its alright out here... big PX, main DFAC is nice... but there are shitty fobs on post like the one I'm at (seitz) which dont have anything. Depends on where you end up at really.

I was there back in OIF2 for a couple months, the best FOB in the entire country, and man, if anyone complains about BIAP/victory/liberty, you need to get a ******* clue. I'm up at FOB McHenry right now near kirkuk, and if you want to talk about ****, how about we do all our own laundry, our chow hall is about 40' x 30' and we do our own cooking, and do all our own fob force protection, plus cleaning of our bathrooms/showers. We have NO civilian contractors on the fob, except for **** suckers. I won't even get into all the other **** here either lol.

Have fun at Victory, cause I'm damn jealous i'm not back there again.

Best of luck.

Camp Liberty is part of VBC(Victory Base Complex). It is comprised of 6 different camps to include the airport. It has every AAFES concession that exists. AFN is free, internet in your room, you get climate controlled trailers DFAC rocks, fishing at the Palace and shuttle buses take you everywhere you need to go. It will be like on post restriction at FT Sill. I believe your unit will be replacing mine in about 6 weeks. It will be good to see you guys get here.

Im on Stryker which is connected to the VBC area. If you stay on Liberty it will be rough for a few weeks but then itll get better. Like the other guys said, DFAC's are good and the PX has everything. Its the same size as the one in Taji but it has alot more. See ya in a few weeks.

That is gonna depend on your unit LNO's and the optempo of your unit. 10 days is about average. And it is gonna be smokin hot!
