Default MP's in Hood or Belvoir

I am re-enlisting for either Fort Hood, TX or Fort Belvoir, VA. I heard that the 89th MP's out of Hood deploy for 6 months at a time, any truth? What about the price of housing and entertainment around Belvoir?

I've been to Killen and it's not that bad. I have a brother that lives there and he seems to like it.

Cove is better to live in than Killeen. Just my opinion. Give me a few days and I can try to find out their cycle.

89th got back in Dec after 15 months. They are in the window for late this year or early next year t go back out. CSM Ashford is up there, so unless you are going directly to 89th BDE he will put you in a company as rear D or in a company that will be going soon. Hope this helps. Don't Re-up for Hodd unless you really want it. 720th BN will be getting back soon so you could get there.

i cant speak for the housing on base, but i live in northern VA and i constantly drive by fort belvoir becase my recruiter is near there. its on a long stretch of road with stores n what not on each side, there are a lot of places to go to but the area isnt really that great. i think some gangs and immigrant violence. and like gryde said cost of pretty much everything is not cheap

just realized ur an mp good stuff. The unit here is not too bad. plenty of shopping oppurtunites off-post potomac mills and such. Traffic on 95, 395, 495 (pretty much anything with 95 in it sux ***). DC is great tourist spot but because of that traffic and cost of living is up there and no cola is offered. Good places to rent are Woodbridge-ish, Lorton, Manasses but with that come traffic. a lil bit of gang violence off-post, just ur normal dumb stuff on post.

Entertainment around here is allright. an amusement park, VA beach 2 hrs away, Potamac River is on post (plenty of fishing and boating) and of course get ur tourism on in DC and stuff. F-body scene is alright with f-bodyhideout and stuff. meet up monthly and cruise to eat or hit the track

Deployments- zero-zilch-nada, unless ur K-9 then everyonce in a while. Plenty of missions for DC tho. share with fort myer. and adjoning posts

any other questions lemme know.

Im worried about the cost of living. Housing is ridiculous and when I get out I don't want to be stuck with a mortgage payment.
