Heard its better than Misawa, but also heard Kadena was amazing. Guess it all depends on what your interests are. I know a few there.

My son went there straight from tech school and loves it. He already did an "in place COT" and will be there at least 4 years total. Just about done with 2nd year now. We lived at Misawa before when he was younger. Misawa is more rural and farm-like community. Yokota is pretty much in Tokyo so lots of traffic and congestion, but just about anything you need there.

Yakota is the ****. You will have a blast. If you don't, at least it's only 2 years.

alright from the first two whole days i have been here here is my take. it is FREAKING AWESOME. all of the main buildings are centrally located bx/commissary share a building with two food courts and all the barbers mcss are there as well. the gym is big and the remodeled addition is going to make it even better. housing is tight but we have a main level garden already. cars are CHEAP. we are buying a beater 92 corrola with about76k miles for a grand and it looks like it came off the showroom floor. i have seen a r32 gtr skyline for 3k and supras for 6k fully done up. i am going to take a look at a few rx7's next weekend and hopefully pick one up or maybe a supra. and i havent even made it off base yet. let me know if you have any questions and i will try to answer the best i can.
