Wrong. If racing from a static speed (stop or roll), you want the engine to be at or near peak torque to build momentum from the initial hit.

Torque curve can not be manipulated.

The torque output of the powertrain, seen to the wheels can be multiplied through gear reduction, but the engine is still going to produce the same torque curve from idle to redline no matter what gear it is in.

Why does he need the driver mod? His shifts are lightning quick and excellent timing considering he needs to spin the **** out of first and second. Needs to spin? Yup, try driving a high horsepower, turbo fwd car and tell me how fast you accelerate when you shift as soon as you get wheel spin. Especially a Honda, they have no torque and not a thing down in the lower rpms which you would be if you shifted at too low of a speed. You're better off just spinning because despite the spinning, you are constantly gaining speed, although of course, not as fast as you would be with 100% traction. But that is the downfall of FWD as we all know, you hit the gas, the car tilts back and then weight is off the powered wheels.

Short, kid drove the hell out of that Integra and probably to the best of it's abilities. Fast Integra, Faster WS6.
