I've seen this video a long time ago, I was always curious of what was done to his car. Sounds a little meaner than and LS1. I'm guessing a supercharged or turbo setup on a 408 or maybe spray...hell idk. But i'd like to know who this was and what the setup was.

Matt Harlan (y2khawk) - it had a turbo (or two) - I think at the time it was an Incon kit.

Having owned damn near every brand of liter bike since the late 90's... Something has always bothered me about that video... The bike that he raced wasn't a GSX-R1000... The bike RIDING with the guy that he raced was on one (a 2001 to be precise)... I can't nail it down, but the bike in question appears to be a pre-R1 FZR1000.

Needless to say, that TA was haulin some AAAAAAAYESSSSSS.

Yeah that always bugs the crap out of me. Huge difference in terms of then, and now.

I don't know for sure, but it's still probably making 120-130 to the tire. It's a YZF Thunderace 1000

At the time of the vid Matt Harlan was high 600 low 700 if I'm not mistaken and ran low 10s with over 140mph.

After that he ran an awesome low 8.1@170mhp with little 346ci and twin 66 I think he's the fastest 346ci untill now.

I cant WAIT FOR 2009.

Racing someone coming out of a wheelie is not like racing them while the front tire is on the ground because you lose RPM'S.

Yeah, but try to keep the front tire down on a 1k. Most of them do 100 or more in 1st gear. At 60MPH at 9k+ the bikes coming into peak power.

Regardless, that bike had no more than 130rwhp. It's old school, and carbed too.

Anything new makes 150rwhp+ big difference/.

That's a nice looking bike. I know nothing about them, so i was wondering how much one like that costs. It doesn't look like that stock does it?

lol 150rwhp is 04 and 05, try 180+ nowadays. Pretty much untouchable in a car without some serious mods.

My ZX10R makes about 165 at the wheel. 180 maybe at the engine.

The new 10r actually makes about 190hp at the Engine. Few mods....they are stupid fast.

that has to either be the slowest 1000cc in history or a Retarded fast car...sounded like he was just casually shifting that beast.

There aren't too many cars that will run with a new Liter bike, although i did run into a Vert Vette on the hwy that never fell a car behind me all the way to 186 mph.

Never figured out who it was.

Seriously?

Engine Horsepower (Quoted from Link Below): With the aide of ram air, peak horsepower on the new ZX-10R is a claimed 192 versus 183 last year.

Prove me wrong and i will gracefully bow to you.

Show me the engine dyno sheet, not some CLAIMED bs. The 08 ZX10R stock puts out around 165 on a dyno. Period. Get yours dynoed.

Either way you win. I won't hijack this thread anymore. Feel free to pm though. UL out!
