1000 mile road trip... then a 200 MPH pass!
In case you didn't see this video in my Drag Week update, this is a must see.
Background: Drag Week is a 5 day event at 5 tracks, the racers have to drive (not trailer) their cars from track to track.
By the end of the event, Larry Larson was leading the event by almost a half second (mid 7 second average for the 5 days) and was the only person left in his class. Even though he had already secured the win, he put the car up on jackstands and changed out the clutches in the car to squeeze a few more MPH out of the car.
Hot Rod Magazine was going to create a "200 MPH Club" similar to how the land speed record guys do, but they didn't think there would be any guys inducted until next year!

That is an absurd time for a car that drove 1000 miles! A couple of years ago they came to a local to me track and there were a couple of cars running low 8s. That's a long way from 7s @ 200+. It's amazing what can be done these days.

I meant to ask if that car had ever been a different color. He was the one running 8.0s @ 16x last year when I saw it.
