I use WMM with my gopro.

Movie Maker for Windows 7 works, for Vista does not. Movie Maker tends to mess with the quality though.

I am now using Sony Vegas Pro 10, keeps the quality 100% no matter what you do. Many more options within the system itself too. Just don't buy it, not worth $600+ free downloads FTW.

Hmm, i can't get my wmm to work with it, iv read up on people using video converters on them but i figured that would mess with the qaulity lol, wheres a good place to download sony vegas? Thanks for the help

I wouldn't recommend Vegas unless you are a patient person and want to put some time into the videos. It's a lot more in depth than Movie Maker.

Like I said though, Movie Maker works fine with GoPro (mp4) files on Windows 7 but not Vista. I assume you are on Vista?

I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS5, it has a plugin built in already to import .MPGs

^Heard lots of real good things about that one.

Dunno about XP though.

I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements 9. Works well and is fairly easy now that I'm getting the hang of it. Search for any of the big programs on a good torrent site and download... Now I can cut together a simple clip w/ titles and transitions pretty quickly. Haven't done any advanced picture-in-picture stuff or the like though, it can do all that of course. Lots of tutorials online too.

The best free GoPro editing software I've found is the VideoPad video editor. You don't have to convert any files and you can export it into any format you like (smaller file sizes). It is super simple to trim long clips down too. Here you go http://videopad-video-editor.en.softonic.com/
