My LED Conversion: Dash, Turn Signals, Dome Lights, Shift Indicators, etc.
Couldn't do this to my TA unfortunately. I will be doing the dome lights, but that's really all I can do! This is for you F-body & Jeep owners. I decided to replace as many bulbs as I could with LED's on the interior of my ZJ. I purchased them from VLEDs. The following are used...
Blue LED's:
White LED's:
And the dome lights are white as well - I'll add a photo later.
Green LED's: Turn Signals (Forgot to take a photo, will add later)
Video here - shot with my cell, though, at 800 iso, so pardon the huge amount of graininess!

I've considered putting white LEDs in my gauge cluster and the shift indicator to have a cleaner white from my gauges at night, but I don't want to have any hot spots.
doesn't look like you have any hot spots in those pics. I assume the jeep uses 194 bulbs?
What bulb in particular did you go with? I've heard of people talking about specific angle lenses and types of bulbs and things.. I don't want to make mine WORSE.
I'll need to be in the center console eventually because the top trim was broken by whatever genius owned my car before me, so I'll probably start there.

Shot of the turn signals as well, I need a night shot. I think I need to change these out to dimmer LED's as they are BRIGHT:
Some LED's I got through my buddy who has an LED hookup, others I got from VLED's. I've had them for months now. I did the same in my last TJ; Tried doing it in my Trans Am (Not possible), and will be doing it to my bike as well. The numbers I am going to list are the physical number of LED's, not "pairs" as most are sold as pairs. IIRC...
4 or 6 of these for the dash:

2 of these for the turn signals:

2 of these for the 4 wheel indicator in front of the shifter (For the tire lights):

2 of these (uninstalled) for the "body" outline of the Jeep for the 4 wheel ind:

1 of these for the gear indicator (P, N, R, D, etc.) & 1 for the t-case shifter:

5 of these for the dome lights:
http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED-Bulbs/Dome-Map-LED/White-LED/6K-WHITE-CANBUS-PROOF-p9594395.html
2 of these for the floor lights (I THINK they're 1156's off the top of my head):

They are plug and play. The one thing you have to know is that there IS polarity with these LED's. I'd recommend doing this during the day, but having a place to pull the Jeep into that's dark as well. This way you can confirm that each LED "bulb" is plugged in the proper way. If not, just take out the base w/ LED still installed, flip it over, and reinsert. It should then work fine.

EXACTLY! The 4.0L especially. I think it's the most reliable motor ever put out. I've had 4.0L's with anywhere from 190,000 to 250,000. The only time I've blown a motor was when my engine temp gauge sending unit went bad and the t-stat stuck close. Fried the head at that point. Found another 4.0L in a local yard, 88k miles on it for $400. Ran it for tens of thousands of miles then sold the Jeep.
