Very nice! I guess I've never ventured into this subforum before, lol. Apparently no one else does either!

I've never thought of these cars as being fat asses. This '83 has a BBO 455 (iron heads even) and still only weighs 3,340lbs (number from scale is in the upper right hand corner). Compared to modern muscle, these cars are lightweights:

I meant for the visual haha..

Saw your numbers, mine is a 6.0l LQ4, T56 6spd, with a QP 9" in it, no AC, and on scale was 3500lbs full tank of gas..hmmm

The one I posted above belongs to a friend, I helped him put the engine/trans in.

It's a 455 BBO, iron block/heads, aluminum intake, headers and axle dumps, 8.5" rear, TH350 trans. Also has A/C delete, emissions & electronics delete, and an aluminum GM hood from a diesel model. I don't remember how much gas was in the tank though.

I had an '85 Monte Carlo CL with an AFR headed 406 that weighed 3120 without me in it. Zero weight reduction besides A/C removal and a set of Centerline Convo Pros. The '78-'79 models could be even lighter, I had a '79 with an aluminum trunklid!
