My budget H/C setup VS Two full bolt on H/C 90/90 cars
sup fellas,
i wanted to post this...
this happened after i went to the local 1/8 mile track to get some baseline runs with the car. I was trapping 93mph and some change...and i wanted to test it out vs a couple buddys of mine.
alright here is my setup....
'01 SOM formula M6
-Patriot ported 243 casting Ls6 heads -Magic stick V3 cam 237/242 .603/.609 113 lsa-Pacesetter ceramic coated Race style 1 3/4 longtubes with 3in orp, to the a 3 in e-cutout, and a stock ws6 catback.
-powerbond ud pulley-Ls7 clutch with ls2 flywheel, strange 12 bolt with 373s,and riding on 18 z06 wheels. $2100 invested in n/a power
dynoed 415 hp/369 tq on a mid 90 degree day with lots of humidity.
daves car, '98 silver z28 aka (stripes)
-forged 347-TEA Ported Trick flow heads-custom 236/242 .601/.610 114 lsa
-ported fast 90/90 setup, 4l60 with yank 4k converter, kooks longtubes,orp,e-cutout with magna flow CB, 12bolt 373's,cage, and weight reduction...full suspension, all the extra bells and whistles,,,msd coil packs,tubular k-member...etc 432/39x locked
runs 7.2's i believe at 92mph in the 1/8 in hot weather..still trying to dial it in.

-forged 347-TEA ported Ls6 heads-G5X4 cam-ported Fast 90/90- 1 3/4 longtubes,orp,4in i pipe with 4 in cutout.-textralia clutch- 12 bolt 4:11's- too many extras to list.....
dyno numbers are a secret no track times...
clean enough to be a show car, mean enough to scare a nascar.

yes were sure joe built. if it was a th350 im sure they wouldnt have problems gettin it to shift. its a 4l60e with a ss4000 yank yall would have been a close run if he could get it to shift...but both john and stripes cars are freshly built and still working out the bugs..when there dialed in should be a hell of a street\track bruser (sp)

yea its a 4l60e the intake is not ported at all and it weighes 3460 without driver so it is still kinda heavy damn anti roll bar weighs like 50lbs but deffinatly a good run i think it would have been a good run if my car would of stayed out of the limiter

Yea sucks the damn thing wouldnt shift to third until after eating the rev limiter. Man those damn 5 point harnesses are weird, took me the whole ride out there to figure out how to get them to fit worth a damn!
John's SS fuggin rolls! Think there was some traction issue but it kept moving, it did seem to go through first a little too fast though but once in motion it was rollin. F@cker sounds wild up high! That car feels real good, doesnt feel like the typical n/a LS1 thats for sure!

Enjoyed the hell out of it that is for sure. That was the cars first night out on the town! Break it in right! I'm pretty happy with it considering the new SD tune needs a lil work and I haven't had time to do it. Ol' Formy rolls that is for sure though! It has my old wheels, it has to be fast!

man if i get one its gonna be a used one...remember i am on a budget here....
i think i will have to try thee old short belt and weight reduction first to see how that works
