Very cool. He is like Shelby. He changed the automotive world with the Beetle and then with his Porsches.

Great place to see some fascinating cars. I went there a few yrs back. bmf I didn't know you were in Stuttgart. Are you active duty? Do you go to Bitburg for the 1/4? Got a few Fbody friends in your area. RTZSS and Danix who drives a Black LT1 TA/ w/ chrome Z06's.

Thanks so much for posting these. I always wondered what was all in there. I love Porsche, and I really enjoyed looking at these photos. The Mercedes one is very nice as well.

I wonder why the have the #25 second place 911 GT1-98 car from Le Mans in 1998 instead of the #26 winning car.

your welcome everyone. i have been looking for more places to go, but its expensive to get around with no car. i will be going to some castles coming up very soon. as for the porsche museum i have no idea why they have the cars they do. i think there should be a lot more, but thats just me. i guess 2007 will see if they get more.

Did they not have the 917s out on display?

They have the cars in there that are important to Porsches success in racing and selling street cars. I bet the 1998 winning #26 GT1 is in the Le Mans museum, thus why they have the #25 car in the Porsche museum.

So how is Germany..in general?

well germany is a lot different. i realize everything that i take advantage of in america. first off is is the most beautiful country. there is a forest everywhere you look. the people in general are friendly. the gas is around $6 a gallon.

the bad is you have to get used to a whole different lifestyle. every store is different then american stores. i am used to shopping at walmart and buying in bulk. you cant really do that here. you shop for a couple days and go back. i am in stuttgart and the price of houses are outrages. i was told around 400,000 euro for a small house. again . so most live in aprtments and houses outside of stuttgart. i liked it better in the middle part of germany. its a little more friendly.

i wish i had a car . it would be really useful. it takes me 30 min to get to stuttgart and about 10 with a car. the public transportation is crazy. they can be late, sometimes not even show up. who knows. all in all im having a good time. the beer is the best . this is the only beer i like.

i wanted to move over here for a couple of years, but after this stay i am questioning that thought. it is a lot different and im not sure i am willling to give up what i have back home. maybe for retirement (long way away). i would suggest to anyone that is thinking of moving to europe to visit on an extended stay and see if you like it.

They must rotate them between storage and display cause I know they have 3 917s, I seen them on their webpage a while back.

Sure its not much but its about quality, not quanity, haha.

Exactly, all the cars in that place are on a rotation. Friend of mine was in Germany for the Austrian GP a few years back and got the whole tour. Including a tour of the Weissach area. He said they were on a rotation of a couple months or something.
