K20s are fuckan animals I love them, NA 4cyc's capable of over 300whp is sick!

Most botlon ones with cams are around 250ish whp

bdr_ws6 Dec 14, 2006 03:51 PM

Even though its fast, it sounds like :turd:

Orange_crush Dec 14, 2006 03:59 PM

Fairly fast little car, still utilizes the patented 'ricer fly by' at the end!

71camaro Dec 14, 2006 04:03 PM

Yeah they might make some good hp numbers, But where's the torque at?

25psi Dec 14, 2006 04:11 PM

Why would you need torque, if your racing from a roll? You dont need camaro torque, if your vehichle weighs 1000lbs less. Take those arguements elsewhere. Didnt need it in the video did he.

Just to let you know they make alot alot of TQ for a NA 4cyc very impressive motor

:jest: go cry the damn. I was just asking what the torque numbers were. Plus apparently he did need it because he lost the majority of the races.

Another rookie. Torque is not what accelerates your car, its hp. The weight of a vehicle plays more of a role that torque. Not saying that torque isnt important, but waaaaaay overrated.

This isnt a tractor pull contest. Its a roll race, where torque is not important!

71camaro Dec 14, 2006 04:37 PM

Definately not a rookie, but you wouldnt know that. plus I do agree that it has alot to do with power to wieght ratios. Not always how much power the car can make. But same people prefer dig races not roll races. And thats where torque comes in handy. But what do I know Im a rookie.

25psi Dec 14, 2006 04:43 PM

Torque will win you the first 60ft, thats about it. Tell me when has torque been a deciding factor in a race.

I've been in plenty of races where a cars torque if more than 200ftlb more than mine and I was right there with em until my hp comes into play. A car with 500ftlb and 100hp will still run 16sec 1/4 times.

71camaro Dec 14, 2006 04:45 PM

Ok then what would you say a car with 500hp and 100tq would run? 10's?

Considering my friend with a b16 fully built civic(full interior) that made 505rwhp and 274ftlb ran a 10.8 at 136mph, I would say 10's low 11's.

Well heres the thing. When you get on a dyno, it measures torque, and calculates an estimated figure for horsepower. Torque is what acheives work, and work can be anything. How do you turn a stuck bolt? You sure dont apply more horsepower to it. At anypoint you are trying to move a vechicle torque is important. ever wonder why ricers take a while to move until the boost kicks in? b.c they have low torque number, and the extra boost is when they start building the horsepower....
