Hate to tell you but it broke the axle right at the backing plate. Not the wheel studs. If you watched all the video you would know this.

Was that one of those ice covered 1/4 miles. After hitting the wall it just slides back to the middle. That car shouldn't of moved with the rear of it digging into the track.

The force of the rebound off the wall was much greater than the dragging friction of the rear scraping the track.

Far from being ice covered, Cecil's track surface has a reputation for being well prepared.

No, I was wondering the same thing and I'm pretty sure that his parachute got caught up in the other cars tires and it was dragging him.
