This is the only one I like, and thats only because it looks like a candid shot of a night at the garage.

To be honest, none of those are that good (except the one above). The composition is all off, the quality is pretty bad, and none of them are exposed properly.

The car is in the perfect position in this picture, but there are so many distracting elements (the red gas can, the tarps and brooms, etc. etc).

What camera are you using? And do you have Photoshop? It looks like you're using an older or cheaper Digital Cam, so the quality of the picture itself cant be but so good. The first thing you should buy with ANY camera if you EVER want to do night shots with a car is a tripod (if you dont already have one). You want to keep the ISO as low as possible so it will have as little noise as possible.

If you have photoshop, you can post process just about any image, and make it look pretty good. I'll try to mess around with that picture to show you what I mean.

As you can see, the original picture is very cool (blueish tones) so its really hard to work with. I messed with the curves and tried to warm it up some, but it was hard to do without turning things purple.

Just practice more and more, and try to recreate your favorite shots. The more you practice, the better you'll get. And once you get the eye for seeing all of the small details that can make or break a shot, it makes everything alot easier.

Yeah +1 on that. Dont expect every shot to be a money shot. Good shots in reality are few and far between. You can ask any real photographer and they'll tell you the same: be prepared to take hundreds upon hundreds of shots just to get 2-3 keepers.

WhiteSSP is dead on. Go to the main page of the Multimedia forum and look at the stickies for my post on how to take better pictures. There is a ton of good info in there that will give you a great head start on getting some good shots.
