I want to post as much valuable information as I can to send this to PayPal, ups, and my CC company.

Also note we have the nitrous transaction which I have not received a tracking # for.
And that one I will wait day and night for or my fiancé and if it is not the nitrous kit I will refuse the package stating it was not what I purchased and hopefully that will give me a bit of defense to my case.

But I hope it is the nitrous kit.

Here he is stating that he will take $650 for the torque converter- yank ss4000. I covered PayPal fees.

Conversation on nitrous kit

Here is the agreement on the nitrous kit. $700 and I covered PayPal fees once again.
Also talk of the life jackets. He states he knows the guy at the ups store. Yet when I asked him in the texts the name of the gentleman he refused to tell me his name or location.

Ok now here is something to think about, if he signed the ups paper stating everything was ok on the shipping label is he technically at fault for the item being incorrect?

"He agreed to the package being 5 lbs when signing the small paper that says you've checked the shipping label"

I will post pics of the conversation where the agreement for the stall and nitrous kit was discussed.

Also can someone post a link or picture of the accurate weight of a ls1 torque converter?
Any mods/admin on here that can chime in or some suggestions?

I wish I were still in Chicago. I'd go visit this guy for you. Maybe catch him in his garage with the parts he forgot to ship. Alas, that contract ended and it's too long of a drive from St. Louis. Watch the internet to see if he tries to sell them again. You should have made him ship U.S. Postal. If he had, this would be a federal felony -- Mail Fraud.

I know you likely ignored it, but I was trying to make a bad joke... soaked you with life jackets. Comedy is not my day job.

Lol. Oh I have no problem heading that way I can easily book a flight and take a trip. Thanks for the kind words, I will resolve this one way or another.

1)- on the shipping label, the shippers info is not his.

I'm sure they would not want a cop looking for someone to arrest at this company for theft or fraud or even worse a being served papers for a civil court case.
I will call tomorrow and find out who authorized their UPS account to ship vehicle parts.
They will now be involved in a theft or fraudulent case.

Did you call the place it was shipped from? He may work there.

Also, I have shipped UPS many times without the correct weight. They get really touchy on certain things, but if you have a business account, they do not seem to care as much as long as you do not do it on a regular basis. Our company ships 6 truck loads a day all across the world and I have received items that weigh 20 pounds and they were marked much less than they actually weighed.

This stuff sucks. Hope you get your money back.

This sucks.

Paypal fees are part of doing business and up to the seller IMO.

I have been involved in several negotiations and then after the price is agreed on the person asks for paypal fees or says send as gift. I think this is dishonest and I won't deal with anyone that asks for paypal as a gift.

Good luck hope it works out for you.

Yup I sent as gift to a couple of well respect and long time members as ppl set me money as a gift. And that is very few members I would do that with. Other wise pay the tiny 3% and could help you in a big way.

If the seller doesn't want to eat the Paypal fees, and they ask for you to pay as a gift say for instance on a $700.00 part, politely say I'd rather be protected and send them $721.00 to cover the 3% Paypal fees on their end, that way the seller still gets his $700.00 that he wanted and you get your peace of mind.
Anytime you do business on the Internet always use a credit card, DO NOT use a debit card. That way if Paypal doesn't back you up, which they have been known not to on many occasions, your credit card company usually will.

Ok quick question, here is a picture of the transaction. I paid a fee, a $20 fee. Maybe I didn't pay gift. I'll call PayPal in a bit to see if I can make a claim.

Also looked into his trader rating a lot more. He purchased 1 part and traded for something in 2014. But looking up at the for sale threads he has started and he has sold 20plus items in 2014 and absolutely no one posted positive/negative trader rating?! Alone in the thread that I bought the stall/nitrous he sold 8+ items. Where are all those ppl at? Any of yall come chime in, positive or negative.

As long as you didn't select "friends/family" tab before sending money then you should be covered under that $720 transaction!

"Friends/family" is the gift transaction, no buyer protection

"Goods/services" will charge you 3% but you are covered under buyer protection

Also being a paypal user it is the sellers duty to eat the 3% fees, that's part of the fee to use the service in the first place.

I know I'm guilty about asking to pay as a gift in the past but I no longer do it

Paying as gift is the same as mailing him cash/money order!

To be honest, can you prove he didn't send the kit?

I know life jackets arrived but he has deniability and obviously no remorse and I don't know how this will pan out or what the CC company will believe..

He has proof that what was shipped to his address only weighed 5lbs and the converter weighs considerably more than that.

Correct, I can try and have ups give me some type of paper with each stop and the weight. But the claims department verbally verified that it weighed 5lbs since the first scan to the ups facility. I will call PayPal once I get back home in a bit.
