Exclamation 00redSS, TIME TO SOLVE THIS: 2.7.07 ADDRESSED BY BOTH PARTIES

Greetings,

I had purchased a set of 17" Camaro rims HERE. My posts are on page two. Individual posts of interest:

I received the packages thru USPS parcel post about a week later. They were in boxes, bare, with no padding material. Wrap was on the face of a couple of them. When I open the packages, I did a quick inspection and notice damage on two of them. I brought them to a local shop I do business with, and ask them to spin them on their balancer. The two visually damaged ones are severe. On one, the inner lip and barrel are EGG shaped (bent in two places), and the other one is damaged in the same way, only in one spot.

I brought all of this to the seller's attention, and I get a response:

If you want me to, I can take a video of them spinning on the balancer. Maybe you could ask your friends at Ken Towery why these wheels have LARGE (2 oz) balancing weights right in the area of the damage. The two wheels that "look" okay (I have to check them out tonight) have no large wheel weights on them. So just by that, it's safe to say the 2 bad wheels have already been balanced when the damage was there.

Just so you know, I have been in the auto service business for about 6 years now, and seen a lot of things including damaged rims. This is not something to ignore. This is a safety hazard to even attempt to drive on these, especially on a sports car.

Here's what I am requesting: I'm going to make an assumption that these wheels are repairable. IF I were to have these two wheels repaired locally, I'm looking at between $90-120 per wheel to have them straightened PROPERLY back to trueness (cannot be hammered back since the barrel is bent as well. This needs to be straightened on a proper machine). Now I also understand that this just about exceeds what I paid for the wheels ($87.50 per w/ ship). I am an honest person and I'm not looking to make cash off this. Reimburse me for the price I paid for two wheels, and I will cover the remaining costs to have them repaired. Realize that I have to sink more money than I paid for these wheels, in order to use them. Please get back to me.

I had no idea there was a problem and i apologize but it is no longer mine, i am not going to pay you to get the wheels done, i would rather have them back before i did that, but the sale is done. I would sale the wheels if you are unhappy about them.

Was there any shipping insurance on the packages? Maybe you could make a claim if these rims were not bent before. I'm not asking you to pay for the repair, which is worth the same as the rims (if not more). I stated I would pay the difference. Unless I dupe someone else into buying bent rims, they're not going to sell. This has nothing to do with wanting perfect rims. I don't need to buy new rims to get something useable. I don't want to have to take this public and file a claim with Paypal and/or my credit card, that's why I am discussing this with you thru PM and we can try to come to an agreement. If you wanted to work something out, say we deduct half your shipping costs and half the paypal fees, because I understand that's not something not always refunded, that's MORE than fair. For the record, what I paid for the wheels are average price to a little bit above, for straight wheels in good condition. Here are some pictures for your consideration:

The only good news in this so far, is the other 2 rims check out fine.

I am not trying to be a jerk but you either need to get them fixed, call usps yourself, or sell them, i didn't have any insurence on them. so i can't claim anything.
I have no idea why insurance was not included on this, or even tracking after I asked for it. $3 per package to insure them, $0.55 each to track.

So to summarize this, even though I feel the rims were already bent before shipping (due to the wheel weight evidence and the type of damage, notice how one of the lip is bent "outward") I will give him the benefit and say they were damaged in shipping. Due to seller's negligence in packing them well, and insuring them thru the post office, I now have two rims that need repair in order to be used. Buyer is telling me I'm on my own, when he is in the wrong.

I'm not even asking for much. Give me what I paid for two bad rims, MINUS shipping and paypal fees, and I'll call this resolved. $17 per wheel you paid to ship, paypal fees about $3 per wheel. ~$67 PER WHEEL back to me so I can put it TOWARDS repairing them (gonna cost me about $100 per wheel to repair) How fair is that?? It's either that of give me my money back, and find someone else to screw into buying bad wheels. And you KNOW damaged rims such as these are worthless. I can't wait to take videos of these wheels in action tomorrow, be prepared for some entertainment.

how do i know that you didn't drop the wheels when you got them yourself, they were in good shape and werent bent when i had them, i shipped them the same way that my new rims where shipped to me. I'll be try to be fair though, i will give you $75 to get the wheels fixed, that will make the shipping free, since you already have the product, i can't have it fixed my self.

I dropped them, right

Granted that will cover almost ONE rim, but if you're serious about sending me $75, with paypal, NO hassles or bullshit (no E-check or mailed out money orders) send this to me by thursday, then I will drop the paypal claim, close the dispute here and consider it done and forgotten. But I'm not going to sit around waiting for this. I'm taking the loss on the assumption that I can close this up and concentrate on more important things going on in my life. If I don't see it, then the deal is off.

Paypal sent, i think that is very fair, i don't think that i should pay to have both rims fixed, that is almost like going in half and half since apparently neither one of us knows what the hell happened to the wheels.
