what should I do, bought some wheels, came in crappy
I bought these draglites off here from the classifieds, the seller had a couple pics of them mounted, and they looked ok in the pic. I pm'd asking to confirm they have no dings or bends. He confirms the condition, and we work out a deal. A few days later he tells me he has to get the tires removed, and ships them out. This is what I get when I open the box. Both wheels have dings in the outer lips, and have DEEP gouges in the backs from brake clearance problems. I pm with the conditions, he claims they were not that way when he sent them out, but if they don't hold air he will refund $30 less than I paid him, and for me to pay the return shipping. I reply that I am sure they will hold air, but they are not the condition I was told. I didn't want to walk up to my car and look at a bent set of wheels everyday, and would live with them for $100 refund and just put some slicks on them, or ship them back for a full refund, and pay half the shipping. He replies if I was worried about what people would think of my wheels, I should have bought a new set. That kind of pissed me off, since that is why I was so insistant on asking about the condition, and for not much more I could have bought a new set. He then replied that he had insurance on them, and to file a claim. I am at a loss of what to do. Ups wants to pick up the wheels to look at them, then I will not have the money or the wheels, I am trying to be understanding but patience is wearing thin. Should I file a paypal complaint, follow through with the ups claim, which I am sure they will say it was prior damage or packaging error. Thanks for reading and tell me what you think I should do.

Well, shot him a pm saying to reverse the transaction give me a full refund, I will pay the return shipping. He can hash it out with ups. We will see what happens. I will give him a chance before filing a fraud claim. To me the worst bends look like they came from a tire tool or something from removing the tires.

yea definitly go thru paypal and get your money back, and make sure to leave him the proper feedback. and at least try the ups thing as well, can't hurt, if you get a little money back maybe you can try and make up the difference selling the rims, just honestly.

It is guys like this tool that make it difficult for me to sell quality parts to fellow f-body folks. What an ***!!! Take it to Paypal and make him explain his actions to them, they will draft the money out of his account even if it ain't there.

yep, hang him up by his Skittles......
I wouldn't take nothing less than a FULL refund and him paying for ALL the return shipping. No reason for you to lose money.

^^^^^^^^^^ I checked it out too, it looks like the sig refers to his other car (Toyota?). I did notice that it looks like he mostly posts on trading threads. I could be wrong in thinking that's all he does here. I surely hope that you have the PMs saved, so that you can show them to whomever.

Thanks for all the support! I have saved all the pm's back and fourth, he does have all good prior feedback, and has returned my pm's, just not acted responsible about it. Basically just file the claim and see what happens is his stand on it. At first I thought about just trying the ups claim, but I would really just like to get the money back and ship them back.

I deliver for ups and it won't be easy to get your money back through thier ins. co. especially if the items were used,if it was everybody would put in fraudulant claims, that's if he even paid for the extra insurance, they would only be insured for $100 if not. This guy lied to you on condition of the rims and wants nothing to do about it so I would definantly sick paypal on him.
