Default Help with building up a lsx bowtie block

Hi,

I am pretty new to V8 and don't know a great deal about them except the costs involved with building one.

I am looking at buying a tall deck LSX bowtie block and have found the following parts for the bottom end. I just wanted opinions on if they're the right parts to buy for the build. My aim is to get over 1500hp with a forced induction application.

Pistons: Diamond Pistons, -28cc dish, 4.125" bore, 4.000" stroke, 6.125" rods, 1.115" comp height, 0.927 x 2.500" wrist pins.

Rods: Carrillo - 2.100" large journal, 7/16"CARR bolts, 1.060" PE width, 0.940" BE width, 2.2250" BE bore, 0.927" pin diameter.

Crank: Lunati - Pro Series, 4.000" stroke, 2.559" main bearings, 2.100" rod journals, 6.125" minimum rod length...

I am not 100% sure if the rods will suit the crank?

Any help / feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Best advice that I can give is to call a site sponsor that builds engines.

Knowing your budget, intended goal, power adder, and vehicle application they can best point you in the right direction.

If I may ask, what project is this for? Full on race car?

Look in the Forced Induction section and peek at other peoples setups. Good Luck!

You will want to start with the simple bolt-ons first to get an idea.
Also the LSX tall deck means custom headers, intake manifold...
Supercharged 9.5:1
Turbocharged 8.5:1

Do some research. You want 1500hp wheather thats rwhp or flywhp hope you are planning on spending 20k+
Good rule of thunb is add up all the costs if a FI motor and double that.

Goodluck, if you do a search there are many guys that want to do what you are doing.
