He had 421rwhp and was running 12.4's. Thats a more realistic time with the hp he is producing.
You obviously don't know what the cam-only record is, and how much hp he puts to the ground, do you? And what about Mark's heads and cam formula? I'm pretty sure it is in the 420 rwhp range, and it has been knocking on the 10 second door lately. Face it, your car, for your mods, is slow.
I'm not talking about the cam only record am I? I'm telling you what the guy had (hp wise) and what he was running.

Let's face it... 80% of track times is the driver. My buddy in his WRX said he could run my car faster down the track that I could - So we swapped.

My best was the 13.2 - he could only muster a 13.4 after several attempts.

His best was a 13.4 - I could only muster a 13.8 but DAMN it was fun launching that little SuperDoo right at rev-limiter!!!!

I know I am beating a dead horse here, but AGAIN look at my 60' - If I got my launch down right and could get it down to a 1.8, I would be in the 12's on a lid and catback!

Kansas-

Your car is a '99. They are slower stock that the '00-'02 from my experience. Moreso the '01-'02 however. Your car is a tank. Mine was not. It was basically a stripper Z28. It weighed 3650lbs with me in it. Don't be pissed at the world because your car started off slower from the factory. My bone stock run was a 13.67 @ 104mph. That was on a 2.2 60'. I'll do the math for you...

2.0 60' = 13.3 @ 104mph (with no other mods)

I started out at 293rwhp. The lid & catback gave me around 20rwhp. I see that you're having a hard time understanding this. 20 additional hp to the wheels combined with good air shaved 3 tenths off my ET and I picked up 3mph.

I find it funny that you claim on that. It would be a different story if I said I went 12.5 @ 109mph.

Shaving 8 tenths off with gears, a converter, and ET Streets is right on pace with everyone else. But still, your 13.0 @ 102mph is less than stellar with those mods. As it was so eloquantly put earlier in this thread, maybe you'll pick up some mph when you are intelligent enough to go to the track when there isn't a hurricane.

The more you post, the more you embarrass yourself.

Either read where i said it was .2 faster than unit213 stock camaro or keep your .2 cents to yourself.
Sure, but you are calling BS on that, and saying that his "stock" camaro should run high 13's, like all the "stock" LS1's you have seen ... then you say that stock 03 cobra's only run .2 seconds faster. Hate to break it to you, but Unit's Z was not "stock". It was your choice to use poor wording, not mine.

..... As it was so eloquantly put earlier in this thread, maybe you'll pick up some mph when you are intelligent enough to go to the track when there isn't a hurricane.

Seriously, most people put at least SOME thought into track conditions when they go ... high heat, humid, and a hurricane running through would probably NOT be the best time to go.

Unit 213 I agree with you. stock ls1 will run mid to low 13's. Mine is one of them with just true duals with stock manifolds mine is running 13.00 at 109.45 with a 2.0 60ft. So that guy calling your low 13's with lid and cutout bs something is wrong with him..

BTW, I'm number 162 on the ET list here at LS1Tech.com and I spent only $800 in performance mods. How much have you spent already? And you're only running what?

wonder how smoke_ur_50 ran 11.89 bolton? i gues his car must have weight 1000 lbs with your thinking. again go ask anyone at HPT or any of the Fbody guys in KC and nearly all know me and what these cars run.

learn to drive bro and lift the attitude. you are dead wrong. i will say it again but i am setup like yours except i have a cam and stock heads (big deal bro) and run 11.59 @ 116.8 at 3600 lbs. shud aap! maybe something is wrong with my car? mark has run 11.31 @ 122 mph in his old setup and now has 461 rwhp on his all motor setup. i guess with your calculations, he should now run 12s?

and learn to get your 60' in the 1.69 range or less.

actually ask mark when his next weekend open house is (usually a dyno day and griling) at his shop and there will be plenty of ls1 cars there just like yours. find out what they run. go hang out with them, drop your stupid attitude, open your mind, and see how they run. then you will learn how to drive and setup your car. you keep talking about rwhp. that isnt the issue, it is how you are hooking and setup. you might even learn something........

or run your mouth, brag about running 13.dohs with a big convertor car, and get laughed at behind your back. just dont represent us ls1 cars like this

Somehow I keep finding myself posting on this topic... Gator's right. When I showed up the first time at the track I was BULL **** because my car was in the high 13's and all the other "stock" LS1's were running low 13's. After about 6 weeks and 20 passes with NO MODS - I got my car down to the low 13's and I'm still running a 2.1 60ft. I'm not too proud to admit it - but I'm getting better as a driver. Always in seach of the perfect run - I am forever either, bogging the car, peeling out, missing third or whatever. I go for the FUN OF IT and for the nice group of friends you can meet and LEARN from...

Well, I guess I could add a little to this..

First off, what is the DA typically at the track that this guy ran at? This could tell alot I would think. At my home track my car runs 13.70's @ 105 with horrible 60' times (2.20's) with 4500-5000+ DA's (Nittos will be here Monday and i'll be looking for 13.30's or better). And, all my buddys with autos with a lid/exhaust/converter/ET Streets (even headers/gears in some cases) run in the 13.0 range with 1.7-1.80 60'times. Surely full raceweight and 5000+ DA have something to do with that right (they all run in the 12's at a better track)? Also, we all know there are the factory freaks out there as well, my friend's 01 Z28 M6 ran a 13.1 @ 106 with only a lid, cutout and ET Streets in 4000+ DA and in the other direction i've seen guys at my track run 14.50's in A4 LS1's, hell.. my Trans Am ran a 14.21 @ 102 with a lid and me not being able to drive that great yet, and the VERY next day I went to SLP day in Dallas and ran a 13.66 @ 104 with a WORSE 60' time.

So, the question is.. what was the DA and track conditions? If it was better than 4000 (not sure about Kansas altitudes) I would also have to agree that the times are a little low, but could be improved easily.

I wish I lived near a low alt. nicely prepped track, but we aren't all that lucky.

Chris81- I cant' remember racing at KCIR when the DA was over about 2000, and that was back in july. The track elevation is only 800 ft. above sea level.

that track is at 850 feet of elevation. the DA can fluctuate wildly depending on teh time of the year but around now or even a month ago, it is only around +1500 feet and sometimes dips down into the +800 range. air has been cool, around 60s then. and that track hooks well too. 1.5s arent too hard with convertor and et streets. i have pulled many 1.5s

Also, we all know there are the factory freaks out there as well...

There definitely are freaks out there. My Z28 was not one of them however. It dyno'd at 293rwhp with only a descreened MAF. That's a less than stellar performance. Keep in mind that it was an A4 though. I've never heard of an A4 being a freak.

So, the question is.. what was the DA and track conditions?

I normally race at a DA of 2000. The local track (Milan Dragway) is notorious for being one of the worst in the business. It's all up to the driver...

Unit just out of curiousity what does your cobra run. BTW my 98 A4 WS6 with a lid, catback, and free mods only went 13.68 @ 101mph but I was at 220 degrees on each run. Anyway I know it's a slow POS for a LS1. Although I am thinking of going back to the track soon and seeing what it will run in some nice 50 degree michigan weather. It feels like a different car now compared to in the summer time.
