Z06 intake manifold install

Z06 intake manifold install
I have access to a free 2001 Z06 intake. All I have to do is trade my stock 2000 Z28 intake for it. What kind of power gain do I get and is it worth it. My car is stock at this time. I plan on going to true duals and LT headers with a lid and a couple of other bolt ons. Will it throw codes? Will I need to get any tuning done? What are the drawbacks if any? Your input will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Z06 intake manifold install
There really are no drawbacks. Since your car is a 2000 and the LS6 intake is from a 2001, you'll have to block off your EGR, which will throw an SES light, but won't affect drive ability. Yo can have the EGR deleted with LS1 Edit.
You stand to gain around 8-10 hp in relatively stock form, but with after market cam and/or heads, you can gain 20hp -/+.

If it's from a vette you will have to drill and tap (or use an insert) for the throttle cable assembly. The vettes are drive by wire.

Re: Z06 intake manifold install
I think that the holes are already there for the throttle assembly. Does anyone make a EGR block off plate or will I have to make one? It is a 01 Z06 intake I saw it come off the car. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks !

I'll have to check to make sure but I don't think there is a hole for the throttle assembly because there is no throttle assembly.
