Default Torque converter question.

On an 01, would I need anything else besides the converter itself? tuning, tranny cooler, or shift kit? thanks.

I dont think the tuning would be necessary but tranny cooler would and if you want to take full advantage of your converter I would highly recommend a shift kit. Good luck

My tuning q is in reference to the higher stall working with torque management. Would that cause a problem with the new stall?

DEFINITELY get a tranny cooler with the 'verter. also a shift kit will help you take full advantage of it. b&m and transgo are both good choices, respectively.

i don't know much about TM, so i can't comment on whether you should delete it or not. tho obviously if onebadz is running a tci 3500, and he's saying to delete it, then its not such a bad idea apparently. do a search on Torque management and see what you come up with. good luck!

Alright, did a better search and found some answers. I was hoping a tune was not necessary but it looks like it is. Thanks again.

Not necessarily, i have a tci 3500 and no torque management issues. Also, predator will not delete it.

You'll want to delete TM with a 3500 stall or higher. And yes predator does delete TM as well as LS1-edit. But you can run it first with a shift kit and see if it has issues first. You may run fine with just the cooler and shift kit.

Good Luck

i run a 3400 and i dont have a problem with T.M. u may start getting a weird feeling with a higher stall or more horsepower....a buddy of mine had a 4000 stall with like 420 or so rwhp and he said the car used to feel like it would fall on its face for just a split second with the T.M.
