Lid For SS
Hello I pretty new to the forum I keep reading different things about lids or intakes. Basically everyone says the SLP flowpac is not worth the money. I have the 325 horse SS nothing else except magnaflow muffler. Would a lid and K&N filter help much is it worth the extra bucks? Anyone know of the cheapest place to get the lid and K&N filter also? Just forked out alot of money for the SS looking to mod a little this year.

A lid is a good first mod that will continue to help with more mods. Here's another one for you

Also check out a ram air to help your new lid.

I like the MTI transparent lid myself. I think it looks cool. I also found a thread on here that just an MTI lid with no tune gave an 02 Camaro SS 16rwhp. Really cant go wrong on any of them though.

i like the clear mti lid but i just went with an slp lid... i think they are all overpriced for a piece of plastic... speedinc.com has good deals on either lid and if you buy the filter at the same time you get it for $19 which is a great deal... it just says lifetime air filter on their site but when i got mine it was a k&n so you save about $30

Yea I like the MTI look too I probably will go with the SLP one though. I really can not believe it gives that much horsepower but I will see. Amazing if it does. I have someone on the LS1Tech wants to sell his used ported polished TB to me are they worth the money? just wanted some advice thanks.

a ported stock tb is not a night and day difference but every little bit helps... if you do an ls6 intake i'd definitely look into it... you can send your stock one in to get ported for about $60... it will be a nice piece if whoever ports it knows what they are doing

There was an article in GMHTP about lids. Basically it said all lids perform the same. I like the fit & finish of the SLP best.
Cheapest place is the for sale section of the board. You can find them used cheap.
