What is a 6.0 LQ9?
Like the title says what is it? How does it relate to a LS1 cause I just been researching LS1 add-ons. Reason I ask is that I am thinking about buying a 98Z with one but I dont want to start having to research a whole new motor here's his ad
White T-TOP Z28, Grey Cloth interior
for sale is a 98 camaro Z28 with a 2006 6.0 Lq9 in it. the motor put outs 345hp

Ridings Automatics built by Mike Ridings 3600 9" converter (less than 5,000 miles-unlimited miles/2 year warranty)
Aftermarket trans Cooler
T-tops
Power windows, mirrors, locks
Monsoon premium sound
A/C system removed
Egr Delete
SLP High Flow Air Lid
K&N air filter
Ported MAF
Exhaust Cut out
Coolant Bypass
Manual Fan switch (HI/LO with indicator lights)
8000k HID KIT (not the cheap Autozone bulbs)
Poly Trans Mount
Grey Cloth interior
the car has 123,000 miles, i took it to the track once and got a 12.82 out of it and that is really good for having a stock ls1 intake, tuning, and all stock exhaust and catalytic converters. with tires, headers, and intake, and a gear the car is capable of a 12.0 and is a perfect platform for nitrous or a turbo due to the steel lq9. the Converter drives like stock until you stomp it and the beast is unleashed. the body is in good shape but does have its dings and scratches, due to it being owned by a 60 year old women up until 100,000 miles when i got it. while i had the motor out i painted the entire engine bay with durable 3m textured coating.wheels are 17/18 combo with 275 rubber all around
586-382-5350
$5900
i was going to put a cam in but ran out of budget and had to get back on the road. so i have patriot .650 lift springs, and tsp hardened pushrods that can also be worked into the deal

From what I understand, the LQ4/LQ9 engine is the iron version of the LS1. A lot of people consider them truck engines, since they are found in GMCs, Denalis, Chevy Silverados (can't remember which years), and Hummers.
They have the reputation of being fun to build since they are very cost effective and their stock compression is around 10:1.
If you want more info on the differences between the LQ4 and LQ9, a search or two on this site will tell you everything you want to know.
I'm sure someone will chime in and correct my info or contribute. Sounds like a fun car you're looking at.

Rodger That Fellows! You guys got me excited now, I wanted a 6spd but heck this is $2000 cheaper than the SS I was looking at that had a 6spd.
So this its like a 383 stroker huh?
Well based off the infor you guys said in theory I should be able to make more power with this combo right?
Thanks In Advanced

No not stroked but 4.0" bore that has a lot more potential than the LS1 3.98" bore. 370 cid stock but can go 402+ depending what you wanna do with it...
