tranny match up i have a 1996 trans am with a f#$ked up tranamission. when i purchased the car the guy gave me a 1995 firebird parts car. will the 95 firebird tranny built up to the 96 trans am engine???

Need more info.
Auto (4L60e) or M6 (T-56 six speed)??
I only worry about the auto due to the change over in PCM's from 95 to 96 in the form of ODBI vs ODBII.
As far as physically they all bolt up the same. The programing and harness may differ, check the transmission section or the LT1 specific section.

Check either in the LT1 section, OR Camaroz28.com as they have a strong LT1 following and I do know there is some Harness differences. Since your running the engine on a ODBII PCM and the trans may need a ODBI considerations. I have been out of the LT1 game for years so I really cant get to techinical but to be honest this is for 98+ LSX cars which all has the same trans from 98 to 2002.
