Default LS6 Cam or hot cam?

Ok a while back i bought a cam from a friend and he claimed it to be a "Z06 Hot Cam" well i bought it and it was wrapped up and lubbed and it has been in my basement for a while and today i got curious and decided to look at the part number to see if it was really what he said. At the end of the camshaft i found numbers which are... 5308
S 16
1327

Under that is a wierd barcode stamp looking thing. I looked up on GM Performance parts and found a cam that looked similar with the last 4 digits being 5308 and it says 2002-2004 LS6 Cam 12565308
2002'2004 LS6 Cam
I: 204 E: 218
I: .550 E: .550
117.5

Is this just a stock ls6 cam or actually a performance cam? Well it work with a stock LS1 and will it geve me more power gains? Would a Hot cam be better or should i just get my money back?? What im sayin is is it worth puttin it on my car??

you have the stock LS6 cam. its definitely an upgrade to your stock cam. look for around 15rwhp. but if you arent going to DD this car and dont deal with emissions go bigger

IMO...not worth the swap. If you are trying to be sneaky it will NOT loap and give you around 15-25RWHP more....but IMO it's not worth all the work to do so; not when you can go bigger and get much better results.

I had one in my truck....did good. But not long after i wanted more, i went for the "sleeper" look at 1st....well it didn't last too long; after that it was pretty much time to step it up.

Yep well the guy that sold it to me first said that it was a z06 hot cam and now he is saying that he never said that he said that it was a cam out of a 2004 z06 and he said that there is 2 cams that are available and he said this one is the better one. would a ms3 or ms4 be good for a stock ls1?? what do you guys think?

Looks like a nice cam but what kind of tuning would i need because in the details section it notes "Custom tuning for automatic cars required" and my Z happens to be A4 and has no aftermarket stall converter

I wouldn't bother with either one. If you want something
that doesn't need -any- tuning, the LS6 would do. The
Hotcam will want some. Look for info on "old man" cams
if you want drivability, a decent performance bump and
little or no tuning effort.
